LADIES WE ***FLAWLESS

WOMEN IT'S OUR DAY! Even though I believe all days are ours.
I'm going to take this day as an "excuse" and talk about FEMINISM. No, it's not the type of feminism were we should hate men, bras, and have our armpits and legs hairy as they can be. Is the type of feminism were there's equality between sexes (that's basically the meaning of it) but I mean equality in the minimal details. We all can agree that this is a men's world and it shouldn't.
You know that old saying that says "Behind every successful men there's a great woman" but haven't you notice that they put us behind the scenes as the man takes the leading role. Why is that fair at all? To be honest I find it ridiculous. If they were both in the project that made them successful then both should be the faces of that project.

Have you all been familiar with Beyoncé's recent song "***Flawless" you know? the one that goes "I woke up like dis!!! I woke up like this!!!" and says the word flawless like 100 times a minute. If you have, have you payed enough attention where a lady's voice is reading a speech about feminism? I was so impressed about that part of the song, the second I heard it I googled the lyrics and here it's what it says:

"We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make to make themselves smaller
We say to girls: "You can have ambition, but not too much
You should aim to be successful, but not too successful
Otherwise, you will threaten the man"
Because I am female, I am expected to aspire to marriage
I am expected to make my life choices
Always keeping in mind that marriage is the most important
Now, marriage can be a source of joy and love and mutual support
But why do we teach girls to aspire to marriage
And we don't teach boys the same?
We raise girls to see each other as competitors
Not for jobs or for accomplishments, which I think can be a good thing
But for the attention of men
We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings in the way that boys are
Feminist: a person who believes in the social
Political, and economic equality of the sexes"

I was so impressed by this, it stuck in my mind. There's nothing untrue in that speech, it says exactly how our society targets women. Beyoncé clearly knows how to make feminists connotations in her songs, first example: "Who run the world? GIRLS". And adding this segment in a song so good, vibrant, and that makes you want to rebel to the world as ***Flawless does it's just perfect.
The song is about how she worked her ass off to get what she has now, how women have power, how we need to rebel in things that aren't right, and how damn flawless we are as women as in no such thing as a stupid flaw it's going to get in our way of doing things.

Here's the amazing speech you SHOULD listen to. It's our day, LISTEN TO THIS!
It's by an african feminist called: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
"We should all be feminists"
(click on title to see video in case you can't watch from mobile)

The speech is not boring  I swear. She knows how to captivate the audience and how to send her message the right way. It's so powerful.

Remember my fellow ladies, we are FLAWLESS, we need nothing but ourselves to succeed.

With greater love to all the women [and men] out there, I say Happy International Women's day.
