The newcomer actress, Lupita Nyong'o has been transforming into a fashion icon before our eyes.
You may know her from her starring movie '12 Years a Slave' which she won an oscar for 'Best Actress in a Supporting Role' accepting her statue with the most exquisite custom made Prada dress.

Custom made Prada dress. She said it's this sky blue that reminds her of Nairobi.

She's definitely making a statement in everything she's been wearing lately. Her stylist Micaela Erlanger it's an absolute goddess that knows how things roll. Also another thing that makes Lupita so great, it's that she's somehow sending this message that f*ck your skin color you can wear whatever you want! Most people that don't feel their skin is very good looking or it's hard to be matched with clothes. You see it everywhere, specially in the fashion world where there's a lack of diversity, specially on girls with darker skin tones. It's mildly racist, but still racist.
Every woman is beautiful in her own color and should embrace it. 

Even Lupita herself have said she struggled with her skin color. Look what she said:

Now, I had a spring in my step because I felt more seen, more appreciated by the far-away gatekeepers of beauty.”
